Despite the success of Kanye Westâs multi-platinum selling albums, sold out shows and numerous awards, the Hip Hop Heavyweight may be headed to an anger management class soon. According to Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Suntimes, Westâs management team came up with the idea to help the star fix some of his personal relationships as well as to aid him in snapping up lucrative endorsement deals. Despite the starâs success, some advertisers are afraid to work with West becasue of his temper and televised rants on MTV, BET, CBS and other networks. According to Zwecker, two major corporations, reportedly a cosmetics/fragrance firm and automotive manufacturer are interested in working with the âFlashing Lightsâ rapper but are worried about âhow easy heâll be to work with.â Advertiserâs worries may stem from Westâs most recognizable endorsement deal with Pepsi which was in limbo after his âGeorge Bush doesnât care about black peopleâ statement aired nationwide shortly after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Despite rumors that West had been dropped from the deal because of complaints stemming from the controversial statement, the rapper appeared in several commercials one of which premiered on the MTV Video Music Awards in August of 2005. On the personal front, Zwecker was told by a source close to West: âNot only has Kanye estranged himself from some pretty important people in the music business, but his temper has driven away a number of longtime friends.â
