Chart Update: Keys and Blige Climb The R&B Charts, Weezy Holds On To #1 Spot

R&B/Soul singers Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige made moves on this weeks R&B charts while Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” held on to that #1 spot. Alicia Keys’ latest single “Teenage Love Affair” earned Billboard’s top airplay gain on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart moving 15-8 this week. But further down the chart the queen held her own this week, Mary J. Blige saw gains on two singles this week. With three singles on the charts, Mary J Blige’s “Stay Down” rocketed from 51-35 with the single “Work That” following just behind moving from 47 – 38. As reported on Singersroom, Blige postponed her Australia/New Zealand tour today, just days before it’s kickoff June 10th. New dates for the tour are slated to be announced later this month. Elsewhere on the charts, Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” is still holding it’s ground claiming the #1 spot on both Billboard’s Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
