Sean Levert, the brother of late R&B singer Gerald LeVert was pronounced dead just before midnight Sunday at Lutheran Hospital. The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office said Sean LeVert’s body was taken to the hospital from the Cuyahoga County Jail. Sean LeVert, 39, was the younger brother of Gerald LeVert and was a member of the band “LeVert.” It is being reported that Sean Levert was being held in jail for allegedly failing to pay about $80,000 in child support. The cause of his death is not immediately known. Coroner’s spokesman Powell Caesar says an autopsy on Sean LeVert’s body will likely be done this morning. LeVert is an R&B group that was formed in Cleveland in 1984 with Sean and Gerald Levert, the sons of O’Jays founder Eddie Levert, as well as Marc Gordon. Gerald Levert, a Grammy award winner, was 40 when he died in his sleep at his home in Newbury in November 2006. The LeVert family has a street named after them in their native Canton.
