What’s Poppin: Kelly Rowland’s First Week, Brandy Makes-Up, Usher’s Quick Wedding, Gangsta Mya

R&B singer and former Destiny’s Child band member Kelly Rowland had a tough first week at retailer. Her sophomore album ‘Ms. Kelly’ via Music World/Columbia bows in at No. 6 on this week Billboard Chart with 82,000 Units sold according to Nielson Soundscan. Rowland was last on the chart in 2002, when her solo debut “Simply Deep” entered and peaked at No. 12 with 77,000. Is R&B star Brandy back with her ex-fiance, New York Knicks basketball star Quentin Richardson? The couple was spotted holding hands and kissing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s Body English nightclub on Monday night. A fellow reveller says, “They were very much together.” Brandy, 28, who is currently facing vehicular manslaughter charges following her involvement in a December freeway accident in California, split from Richardson in 2005 – a year after the couple became engaged. A spokesman for Brandy refuses to comment on the state of the singer’s relationship with her ex, but a representative for Richardson insists the night out was just a dinner among friends, stating, “They are not back as a couple.” Usher is reportedly planning to rush down the aisle with fiancee Tameka Foster, so they can wed before she gives birth. The couple started dating in early 2006 and announced their engagement in March. The New York Post’s gossip column PageSix reports the 28-year-old singer and 36-year-old stylist are hoping to wed in the Hamptons, New York by the end of July. Sexy R&B star Mya turned private investigator and uncovered her producer boyfriend’s secret cheating life when she moved from Maryland to Los Angeles in 2002, and decided to try to find out more about the unnamed two-timer. She tells Vibe Vixen magazine, “I found the chick’s address; I went riding by. I was calling her cell phone to see if he would be in the background. I had her work number, all of that. I heard things about an engagement, wedding invitations… I just wanted the truth.” When she confronted her cheating ex, he admitted he had major problems with monogamy and owned up to his other woman – and Mya agreed to stay with him. She adds, “I didn’t want to be with anyone else. I didn’t want anyone else to know my body. So I stayed and dealt.” Mya even tried to ditch her good-girl image to keep her man to herself after he criticized her “diva” like image. She recalls, “(I said) ‘Alright, I’m gonna purchase a gun and start rolling around alone so you can see how real of a bitch I am.” She turned to boxing and shooting to cope with her aggression: “It kept me sane. I became a damn member of the shooting range. It was that serious… I was a mess mentally… (but) the sex was good… That’s what kept me there.”
