BLACK EYED PEAS star FERGIE got last night’s (31AUG06) MTV Video Music Awards off to a royal start when she arrived at New York’s Rockefeller Center for her red carpet pre-show performance in a regal white carriage. The sexy singer got the pre-show celebrations off to a racy start when she performed her summer smash LONDON BRIDGE, surrounded by guards and a team of feisty dancers. Sexy Fergie stunned the Rockefeller Center crowd by wearing a cut-off white shirt and tie, tight-fitting Burberry short shorts and knee-length black leather boots. GNARLS BARKLEY’s ?CRAZY? was the big winner claiming two prizes. Gnarls Barkley’s artistic video claimed Best Direction and Best Editing. BEYONCE KNOWLES stole the show with a jaw-dropping performance of her new single. The former Destiny?s Child group member showed off her sexy new image as she performed her new girl power anthem ?RING THE ALARM.? Initially wearing a full-length trenchcoat, like her angry character in the Ring The Alarm video, Beyonce performed a stunning dance routine with 10 look-a-likes before revealing a basque outfit underneath. The R&B queen received a standing ovation as she finished the performance in the fetching patent leather outfit on a hydraulic stage high above the audience. Justin Timberlake gave a so so performance of ?My Love? and current Billboard number one single “SexyBack” off his new album ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds.’ Christina Aguilera performed a heart-wrenching rendition of her ballad “Hurt” with Linda Perry accompanying her on the piano. The star studded show also included appearances by Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Diddy, and many more.
