Being in a male-dominated industry, the women of IMG Records are making their mark one artist and event at a time. This time, the women ran label partnered up with staycation/vacation experts over at Airbnb to showcase their talented roster and show the industry how powerful women truly are as part of WMN/N/SND NYC showcase.
With women empowerment and feelings of nostalgia at the forefront, the WMN/ N/ SND showcase is set to celebrate creatives, their stories, and inspiration behind the music. Event-goers will be able to enjoy sounds from a variety of genres, including jazz, soul, spoken-word, hip-hop, r&b and more. The series kicks off on Friday, April 27, 8-10pm at Canal Street Market and will feature performances by songstress/ songwriter Liana Bank$ and IMG Records’ singer/songwriter Tangina Stone.
“Having Tangina perform for the first edition with Liana, a close friend and fellow artist, is special to us,” an IMG rep stated. “We all have a hand in curating this series and look forward to what it will become this summer.”
Tangina Stone released her debut album titled Elevate in September 2017 and is currently on tour.
Liana Bank$’ debut project Insubordinate was released in November 2017 and she’s gearing up for her new EP Apt 210 this summer.
WMN/N/SND is a series that will allow artists time to connect with the reason they create in the first place. With stripped down sets attendees are met with opportunities to connect and listen. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions, meet the featured artists and network.
Launched in NYC in 2016, Airbnb Experiences were formed to give travelers a behind the scenes view of their destination. Travelers are able to tailor their itinerary in a few steps beyond landing an affordable place to call home on their stay. Experiences can be found in over 12 cities.
