Rumors that BET’s 106 & Gospel had been canceled have been substantiated according to a recent story published at AOL’s BV Buzz. BET representative Tricia Newell tells BV Buzz, “Because of our commitment to faith-based programming, we will continue to create new and exciting shows to entertain our audience. However, at times, we must also face the hard task of making tough programming decisions, as in the case of ‘106 & Gospel,’ which was recently canceled. We will actively continue to create quality programming that resonates with our faith-based community, and we ask for and appreciate your continued support”. Hosted by Trin-i-tee 5:7 singer Angel Taylor and 21:03 member Jor’el Quinn, BET 106 & Gospel had been scheduled for Sunday afternoons when most of its audience — churchgoers– were in church. BET 106 & Gospel also featured Sunday Best finalist Jermaine Sellers, Tye Tribbett, and Kierra Sheard.
