Embattled Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse has a new gig ! According to MTV, Winehouse is on the bill for its brand new series titled “MTV’s World Stage,” a series the network says will feature live performances from around the world every Friday night. Winehouse, who has long been at the center of controversy including stints in rehab and an ongoing divorce battle, will join Linkin Park, The Pussycat Dolls, Enrique Iglesias and Coldplay on the concert series. MTV’s announcement comes after reports that Winehouse had kicked her drug-related habits in favor of recording material for the followup to “Back To Black”. Winehouse’s concert date has not been confirmed, however, she is rumored to follow the Pussycat Dolls and Katy Perry (March 6), Slip Knot (March 13), Oasis (March 20), and Franz Ferdinand (March 27). Coldplay, will kick off “MTV’s World Stage” Feb. 27 with a performance at Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena. “MTV’s World Stage” will be broadcast across 62 MTV channels including MTV1 in the U.K.
