This is New Edition’s week!
Not only does their three-night, BET mini-series “The New Edition Story” premieres today (Jan. 24th), and Bell Biv DeVoe’s album Three Stripes drops on Friday (Jan. 27), but yesterday (Jan.23), the R&B sextet was honored with a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
All six members were in attendance: Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Ralph Tresvant and, of course, Johnny Gill.
“Our friendships, our relationships go so far back before New Edition,” Bell said emotionally as they stood on stage. “We came together because we had a passion and a desire to do something. It was simple, it was just to sing, just to dance, just to make some girls scream.”
New Edition set the stage for boy bands that followed them like New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys, N’Sync and more.
