London singer/songwriter Cherée introduces herself to the music world with her brand new single, ”Please.” Taken from her forthcoming EP, L-EP1, Cherée describes “Please” as being about her trying to reassure herself of her worth.
She further explains, “It was written when I was really confused about my definition of love and lust – the whole EP is about me trying to un-blur the lines between the two. This song in particular shows the contradictions in my life at that point because I felt as though I knew that the absolute right thing would be to remove myself from a toxic situation and live in my strength and independence, but there was a part of me that still didn’t want to be forgotten once I left. Like I wanted to hold on to it for some reason.”
A recent graduate of the esteemed BRIT School, which has been attended by some of Britain’s great musical exports: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, and King Krule to name just a few, Cherée’s sound is a melting pot of sounds influenced both by growing up in North West London and her Scandinavian and Ghanaian heritage.
