D∆WN, aka Dawn Richard, has announced the release date for ‘REDEMPTION,’ the final album in her trilogy installment series, which included the previously issued Goldenheart and Blackheart. The highly anticipated set will arrive on November 18 via Local Action/Our Dawn Entertainment.
‘REDEMPTION’ is primarily produced by MachineDrum and D∆WN, who says it’s her most powerful work to date. It’s also a coming of age for her as a person, tackling race issues, gender inequality, self-love, and empowerment.
As far as race issues, D∆WN sheds light on issues facing African Americans in Black communities with the song, “Black Crime.” She told Billboard, “The amount of crimes that are happening, they seem to love to kill us, so I call them love crimes, they love killing who we are as a ‘people.’”
To excite fans about the release, D∆WN reveals the brand new song, “Renegades,” a high-energy, electro-pop tune that will get her Rebel’s jumping.
