We haven’t heard from Tangina Stone since she dropped her summer 2015 offering “Wasn’t Love Café,” now the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter is back with a newbie called “Ride Off,” the first track from her new album Elevate coming this fall.
The CJ The Great-produced song features Harlem-based rapper, producer and engineer Crystal Caines, who also serves as the executive producer of the album.
“Ride Off” was inspired by the death of Tangina’s fiance’s father, who was a father figure to her since her father has been incarcerated her entire life. The both Tangina and her fiance’s father showed their ugliest sides in their greatest time of vulnerability.
“Lady, I know you’ve been through many things / I mean lately, we’ve both been through many things,” she opens on the first verse.
Tangina will debut “Ride Off” and more new music live at Mercury Lounge in New York City tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31st.
