Baltimore-raised, Philly-based singer songwriter Lee Mo is making her mark in the music industry with the release of her debut single, “Don’t Have A Reason.”

Using the live instrumentation sound (produced by Mario Crew & Harry Wilson), Lee offers a crisp, mature offering for  as her debut single, which even has R&B legend Anita Baker tweeting about her!

Lee’s sweet, pitch-perfect vocals offer a perfect balance of soft and strong textures as she sings about feeling pangs of jealousy; is her intuition telling her her man cheating, or is it a false alarm?

“Cause I can’t sleep at night,  thoughts keep running through my mind / I don’t know the reason why, so I’ll hide my tears inside, so you won’t see me cry / Cause I don’t have a reason” she sings on the pre-chorus into the chorus.

Lee Mo is the musical product of many genres: Gospel, Jazz, and R&B/Soul, just to name a few. She began in church, singing with her siblings in the children’s choir. Growing up, she was influenced by Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, Whitney Houston, and Ella Fitzgerald.

After high school, Lee Mo was inspired to further her career as a performer at Temple University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Vocal Jazz Performance in May 2014. Through her close relationship with Philadelphia’s jazz fusion band, Vertical Current, she has been afforded the opportunity to open for artists such as Robert Glasper, Eric Roberson, Frank McComb, Derrick Hodge, Jeff Bradshaw, and Anita Wilson, and many more. She has worked for Gospel artists Jonathan Nelson and Jessica Reedy, and R&B singer Vivian Green.

Lee Mo will be performing on June 28th at “The Comeback: Philly Style,” which is an annual event that honors Philadelphia’s living legends. She will also be hosting July’s “Sittin’ In,” a monthly jam session highlighting the hottest talent on the scene at The Kimmel Center of Performing Arts.
