Dallas-based soul/jazz singer, songwriter and guitarist Latoya Cooper returned to music three years ago from hiatus to earn her MBA with the release of her Eclectic Soul EP. Continuing to progress in her music career, Latoya just released a brand new single today entitled “Free & Bold.”
The soothing-yet-rhythmic rapture of the song evokes a feeling of reflection, pride, gratitude, and freedom; on the song, she advocates for opening up one’s mind: “Question what you’re told , my sister, before you were bought and sold,” she sings on the first verse.
“My soul and musical interests are a mix of colors and I wanted ‘Free and Bold’ to reflect that,” Cooper said. “Music is powerful, it was important to me to create something that soothes the soul and empowers the spirit.”
