Last month, Alicia Keys announced the arrival of new music and an appearance on the May 7th episode of SNL. Now, after four years of focusing on her family, Alicia Keys drops new music in the form of “In Common.”
The multi-Grammy award winner is known for experimenting with her sound, so the Latin/Afrobeat vibes offered by Illangelo on “In Common” are no surprise, but still an interesting direction for Keys. Written by Keys, Illangelo, Billy Walsh, and Tayla Parks, the song bluntly focuses on the relationship between two like-minded individuals.
“We’ve got way to much in common, if I’m being honest with you / We’ve got way to much in common, since I’m being honest with you / who wants to love somebody like me, you want to love somebody like me, if you could love somebody like me, you must be messed up, too,” she sings on the hook.
“In Common” is slated to grace Keys’ forthcoming album due out later this year. What do you think of Alicia’s newbie, Roomies?
