Chicago Police have recovered a weapon and other evidence they believe could be connected to the deaths of actress/R&B singer Jennifer Hudson’s family. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a gun was found by a police recruit Wednesday afternoon in a lot near 14th Street and Kolin Avenue on Chicago’s West Side. News of the weapon follows the FBI’s confirmation that the body of Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew had been found and was deemed a homicide due to multiple gunshots. The weapon will be tested against shell casings recovered from Hudson’s home. Sources close to the investigation believe that the weapon is a .45-caliber gun. Other evidence has been found however, authorities have not revealed any information surrounding such evidence. In related news, the ‘person of interest’ William Balfour has received a November court date for his alleged parole violations. Balfour has been held since Friday after being named as a ‘person of interest’ however, has not been charged. Among the potential violations the Illinois Prisoner Review Board will consider is whether Balfour failed to meet his requirements on anger management, said Jorge Montes, board chairman. Balfour also missed a meeting with his parole agent on Friday, the day Hudsonâs mother and brother were slain and her 7-year-old nephew went missing. Reached by phone that afternoon, Balfour told the agent he was âbaby-sitting on the West Side of Chicago,â according to the documents, obtained by The Associated Press.
