Following her sassy, reggae-tinged singles “Daylight” and “Dum,” versatile singer-songwriter Sade Serena drops her new EP Jerk Sauce today, along with this tune, “Stray.”
Unlike her previous two releases, Seena ditches the reggae and pursues a more traditional R&B sound on “Stray.” On the song, Sade aches for a real relationship and blames Cupid for his bad aim, always getting caught in the crossfire of love.
“I tried my best just to stay out the way / But Cupid keeps shooting I’m stuck in his aim / Bang bang bang bang, another bullet that wasn’t meant for me / …I got caught with a stray,” she sings in the chorus.
