We haven’t heard too much from BJ The Chicago Kid in 2015, but he’s just been bunkered down in the studio working on some new sounds. Over the weekend he reappeared with a new song called “Church,” featuring frequent collaborator Chance The Rapper and Compton-bred rhyme-sayer Buddy.
The soulful offering has BJ caught in the throes of temptation: “She say she wanna drink, do drugs, and have sex tonight/ But I got church in the mornin’, church in the mornin’,” he sings.
The Chicago Kid is currently working on his Motown debut In My Mind.
