Ciara has been relatively quiet since she called off her engagement to rapper Future after giving birth to her son Future last year. But with the new album, Jackie, set for May 4th, and with the track listing floating around, plus a scheduled tour, it's now time to dig in with the questions!

This morning (April 14), she sat in the hot seat with DJ Envy and Angela Yee of The Breakfast Club (sans Charlamagne) and opened up about motherhood, shade from Tamar, the album Jackie, working out to get her baby weight off, and so much more.

Regarding her engagement, she said she doesn’t regret her relationship with Future because the relationship gave her her son, who she said gives her clarity. “Honestly, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason and my son has been the greatest gift God has given me in my life. He has been the most game-changing thing in my life,” she said. She co-parents with the Atlanta rapper, saying their relationship is now “cool.” “We have a child together. As a parent, it’s important to communicate.”

In regards to getting major backlash from the world about dating a man with many kids by multiple women, Ciara said she saw love first. “I’m human. I went with love in that situation. You can be with someone with no kids and be the biggest jerk in the world. You can be with someone who’s super wealthy and be the biggest jerk in the world…You can’t really call it. At the end of the day, I roll with love. I really believe my son’s father had the greatest intentions to love me, and a beautiful thing came from that, so that’s rally how I see it.”

Ciara’s certainly been through a lot in the past two years, so when it comes to the LP, CiCi says it all about expressing her story. “On this album, on Jackie, this new chapter of my life is really about being expressive. It’s about really allowing myself to be vulnerable. I think it’s healthy to be vulnerable. When you allow yourself to be in touch with your rawest moment, you really develop character that way.”
