Can slow jams make a major comeback this year? According to Ne-Yo, 2013 should be the year that “baby making” music returns to radio.
“You know what? R&B music. Y’all remember slow jams? I want R&B to make a comeback in 2013 and I’m gonna try and have something to do with that,” Ne-Yo said while on set for MTV’s New Year’s celebration.
It’s unclear if he meant that he’ll have something to do with that in terms of an album of his own or another artist’s album, considering he is now Senior VP of A&R at Motown, but Motown does have a project that he might have a hand in… Kelly Rowland’s forthcoming album “Year of the Woman.”
Kelly Rowland spoke of the album in December, claiming to be almost done with production.
“I’m actually wrapping up, getting ready to go to a mix for it. I’m really excited… I’m very excited about this album due out the first quarter of next year,” Rowland shared in video.
