Hakeem Romance is a Singer/Songwriter of R&B music who blends the perfect fusion of 90’s and modern R&B sound, often drawing comparisons to Usher and Tank. Originally from New Jersey, he now hails from Richmond, VA, and was recently awarded the 2022 Male Emerging Artist of the Year by the International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA). Hakeem is also an ISSA Administrator and the Richmond, Virginia Representative.

Hakeem is currently a Senior Artist Development Specialist in the A&R department of Wardenclyffe Entertainment, and he recently teamed up with Resting Dove Records to collaborate on a music project and other exciting industry endeavors.

What made you decide that you wanted to become a singer?

When I was little, what I heard on the radio made me imitate the sounds and voices and I feel I had a knack for that at the time. But in high school, singing was something I could do and people heard me sing so ever since then I’ve been shooting for it!

What goals do you have for the next year?

My next year goals are to get on more festival stages and network more and to expand my brand. And build up the revenue to continue this musical journey.
