Echo singer Leona Lewis can rest a bit easier now that a man suffering from schizophrenia, who admittedly punched the star earlier this year, has been detained “indefinitely”. According to London papers, Judge Howard Riddle ordered that the man, Peter Kowalczyk, who also plead guilty to assault, remain in an area hospital for an ‘indeterminate’ period Monday. “This is what happens when you don’t take your medication,” sources say Judge Riddle told Kowalcyzk. “A woman is now devastated.” As previously reported on Singersroom, Kowalczyk punched Lewis in her face as she signed copies of her autobiography at a London bookstore. Video of the incident was caught on camera and later distributed online. Speaking after the attack, Lewis at one point stated ” I feel completely devastated by this attack. Now I am very frightened about going out in public and I don’t know where the next attack will come from and if this will be more serious than what has just happened.” Lewis recently released her sophomore album, “Echo” in the United States. Led by the single “Happy,’ “Echo” features production from Ryan Tedder, Max Martin and more.
