Los Angeles-based Malaysian talent Yuna drops off the genre-bending, soul-stirring new single, “Forevermore,” and it’s a goodie.
“‘Forevermore’ is a song that I wrote about coming from a small country,” Yuna said in a press release. “I grew up in a small town and how that made me strive to be the best that I can be. When I was young I couldn’t wait to leave and see the world, but that made me able to appreciate my hometown more.”
Serving as an ode to her home country of Malaysia, “Forevermore” is boosted by Yuna’s native sounds complimented with contemporary R&B infusions. The supporting music video, shot in 11 locations in Malaysia and directed by her husband Adam Sinclair, brings the song lyrics to life through vibrant colors, tribal choreography, and beautiful scenery.
Yuna shared that the visual was a “fantastical depiction of my childhood memories.”
In 2016, Yuna released her critically-acclaimed third studio album Chapters. Now, “Forevermore” leads the way as she readies her next studio project.
