During his 30-minute set at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut, R&B singer-songwriter Avant shades today’s music industry. Making his way to center stage, the singer reflects on some of today’s hits deeming them to be vulgar in language.
“I don’t know what’s going on with music today,” he told the crowd before making his own make-shift twerk demo.
Admitting that he was only playing and that would be his first and last attempt at that genre of music, Avant proceeded to serenade the audience with hits “Makin’ Good Love” and “Read Your Mind.” His performance of “Read Your Mind” left audience members in a frenzy as he slid his hands into his pants to accentuate a few of the song’s lyrics.
Before closing out the evening, Avant wrapped up with a rendition of Luther Vandross’ hit single “Superstar/ Until You Come Back To Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do).”
