Cover girl and Grammy-nominated singer SZA is on a roll with the wins this week. After scoring two covers for Fader’s Earth issue, the flower child’s debut album, CTRL, has officially been certified platinum by the RIAA.
The album’s lead single, “Love Galore,” which features rapper Travis Scott and supporting single “The Weekend,” have both been certified platinum. In addition to the platinum status, SZA’s “Broken Clocks” and “Garden” have both been certified gold.
It’s been amazing seeing this young star shine so bright. A true artist is always their own worst critic and SZA proved that in her recent sit down with The FADER. “I don’t even fuck with my own album,” she revealed. “So I was so confused and almost, like, angry that everyone fucked with it so much. It meant everything I felt about myself was wrong.”
SZA has a great support system behind her. In a recent post on Twitter, the singer thanked her dad after a video showed him crying while listening to gold status single, “Broken Clocks.”
“Really love u daddy. Thank u for loving ME! Forever my favorite warrior.”
