It’s Confirmed. Beyonce will take part in the upcoming “The Lion King” remake, voicing for the character Nala, Simba’s best friend.
In March, Variety reported that Beyoncé, who was pregnant with twins at the time, was Disney’s top choice, but now film bosses have made it official by posting the full cast on social media.
The all-star cast also includes Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), and Alfre Woodard (Sarabi). Other cast members include Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Eric Andre (Azizi), John Oliver (Zazu), John Kani (Rafiki), and Billy Eichner (Timon).
Jon Favreau will direct the new film, which will hits theaters in July, 2019. The 1994 original grossed more than $968.5 million, making it one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time.
