It’s safe to say that singer/actress Teairra Mari has faced some trials and tribulations in her professional and personal life. The 29-year-old ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood’ cast member was recently released from rehab after a battle with alcohol addiction.
During an appearance on ‘The Real,’ Thursday, October 5, Teairra opened up about her televised intervention and how rehab was one of the best things to happen to her.
“I made it through, I’m back, and I’m better,” Teairra told hosts Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Tamera Mowry-Housley. “I’m still uncomfortable with the way that it went down, with the people that set it up. I didn’t feel that it was coming from a genuine place… from some people… because it was being filmed for a TV show, so I felt like some people may have been doing it for a little camera time… for that check.”
Although Teairra may have gripes with other cast members, she’s happy to be in a better place.
“But, at the end of the day, going to rehab was one of the best things that I could ever done for myself, and I’m just happy to be back,” shee added. “I don’t want people to put me up on this pedestal because I’m still human, I’m gonna make mistakes, but I just wanna take it one day at a time.”
Early last month (Sept 2017), Teairra previewed the new single, “Bad,” which sees her singing about moving on from the bad things in her life.
