Pop/R&B singer and songwriter Brook Baili showcases her diversity as an artist in her debut EP, Phases, a 5-song set that comes to us via indie label Mainframe Music.
The project was produced by frequent collaborator and burgeoning London producer SAMPL, who helped Brook with her unique alt Pop/R&B sound that will transport you to a place without boundaries.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the EP, Brook says, “I wanted to tell stories based on where I’m at in my life right now and all the experiences that got me to this point. I wanted to capture the various phases we go through in life – highs, lows, love, joy, and pain – in my music. Sonically, this project is a reflection of my personality and me expressing myself in the way I want musically, which I haven’t been able to do previously until this point”.
Baili continued, “We all go through different phases in life, where we feel different emotions, and when creating this project I wanted to share some of the different phases I have experienced. The project has two sides, the light side and the dark side, two contrasting sounds that when together, complement each other into completion. The light cannot exist without the dark, which is why I wanted to create music for both moods”.
The ‘Phases EP’ is headed by the single “Louder,” a beautifully crafted gem with soaring harmonies and airy synths. The bouncy “Cycles” is also a Singersroom favorite.
