West Coast R&B crooner Jonn Hart pays homage to MC Hammer and his city with a new music video for his latest single, “Hammertime,” featuring Nef The Pharaoh & Clyde Carson
“In the Bay area, our culture runs deep,” Hart declares in the clip’s intro. “Like Mack Dre said, ‘Out here, we do things a little different.'”
In the visual, which features an appearance from Oakland, California legend, MC Hammer, Hart and his crew hit the streets for some braggadocios fronting and dancing.
Nothing like sampling a record and being accompanied by the artist as well.
“I’ve had the idea to make a song called “HammerTime” for some years now,” Hart said. “When I was in the studio with my producer Clayton William and we flipped ‘U Can’t Touch This’ by MC Hammer, the rest was history.
