Jessie J is relinquishing all of her pains in the new song and video for “Think About That.” In the clip, the UK singer and songwriter shares her story of hurt in various forms including her hands being bounded together, being topless, and while wearing a scantily-clad masked suit.
“You just laughed when I cried, think about that,” Jessie sings as she bares her soul to the world through raw lyrics and striking vocals.
“I didn’t want to write any new songs,” Jessie J explains. “Camper said “Ok” then before he left the room, he put the beat for ‘Think About That’ on a loop. The lyric and melody just start[ed] falling out of me, and 15 minutes later when he returned, I had a song. He laughed and said “see”.”
The DJ Camper-produced ‘Think About That’ will appear on Jessie’s upcoming fourth full-length album, R.O.S.E., arriving in 2018 via LAVA/Republic Records.
R.O.S.E. means “Realizations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment” — Jessie detailed her struggle and journey of the pending project earlier this week in a no holds bar video. R.O.S.E. represents a bold evolution for the artist as she shares personal stories over the course of the tracklisting.
In addition, Jessie J has revealed her upcoming tour schedule of intimate rooms, beginning in the UK on October 8 at Birmingham Institute, followed by Manchester Albert Hall on October 9 and London’s KOKO on October 11 with further dates plotted across Europe and the US through October 28 at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA.
