Teairra Mari is striking another match at her music career.
The once leading lady of Roc-A-fella Records, who released the well-received hit, “Make Her Feel Good,” a top 10 single on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart, has been trying unsuccessfully to regain her stardom since the label dropped her.
These days you can find the 29-year-old on ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood’ abusing alcohol or fighting over dudes.
Nonetheless, Teairra, who released her last project, Sincerely Yours, in 2010, still has her sights set on winning in music. Plotting to release a new single in October (2017) called “Bad,” she issues a preview of the song which sees her singing about moving on from the bad things in her life.
“Everything I want, I know it’s bad for me / Had to give it up, I did it happily,” she sings. “Sometimes I could feel it coming back to me, but I ain’t ’bout to double back.”
“Bad” sounds simple and truth-telling. It’s unclear how receptive fans will be for her new offering, but we’re hoping Teairra can finally get it right.
