After the well-received New Edition biopic/miniseries which premiered in January, BET is looking to continue the momentum by producing a miniseries about the group’s resident “bad boy” Bobby Brown.
The network had re-hired “New Edition Story” writer Abdul Williams and executive producer Jesse Collins to curate the “The Bobby Brown Story,” which will go more into depth about his life, a.k.a his tenure with New Edition and success as a solo artist. The mini series will consist of two parts, each part 2-hours long airing over two nights.
“New Edition Story” drew in a total 29 million total viewers and brought much-needed ratings to the floundering network. But is this too much, Roomies? We already saw his story play out in part with “The New Edition Story.” Could they have chosen another artist to highlight?
