Kehlani never has to question her position in a relationship because she knows what she brings to the ‘Table.’ On the 90’s-inspired song, produced by Jahaan Sweet, DJ Dahi, and DJ Relly Rell, the Bay Area R&B singer/songwriter exudes confidence as she sings about being dependable.
In the accompanying David Camarena-directed music video, Kehlani rocks the Tomboy look as she and British rapper Little Simz, one of her best friends, gets groovy in a park. The visual also includes performance footage of Kehlani’s European tour as well as her having fun.
“I’ll pick up your 3 am call chick / Love & Basketball chick / I’ll move your car chick / Late night chick to target,” Kehlani sings on the breezy track.
Simz spits about finding balance: “Don’t take my kindness for weakness / Steady dealing with madness / So I pick up my chalice / ‘Cause what’s life without balance.”
“table is featuring one of my best friends, produced by one of my best friends, filmed by one of my best friends, love,” Kehlani writes.
“Table” will not appear on Kehlani’s forthcoming debut studio album, SweetSexySavage, due out on Jan. 27. She is also set to kick off her first world tour on Feb. 21 in Montreal, Canada.
