A Lansing, Michigan Dollar General cashier, who spends a lot of time singing on the job, is being rewarded in a huge way.
Lucas Holliday’s life changed after a customer posted a video of him singing veteran R&B singer Maxwell’s famous single “Ascension” on Facebook.
Because of the viral video, Holliday was invited to appear on Good Morning America as a special guest (via satellite), and what came next will change his life forever. During the show, host Robin Roberts and company surprised the local singer with a personal video message from Maxwell.
“You sound unbelievable,” Maxwell states in the clip. “I wanted to personally invite you onstage at my Detroit show this Friday…Congratulations! You have a sick, amazing voice.”
Ma also added on Twitter: “this is how you make a ‘good morning america great’ @GMA shout to LUCAS fasten yo seatbelt ya life is about to inspire so many!”
Holliday, who has some serious pipes, is in a local funk band called Tell Yo Mama. Along with joining Maxwell on the Detroit stop of his “King and Queen of Hearts Tour” w/ Mary J.Blige, Holliday and his band are receiving bookings from their newfound fame.
