Corinne Bailey Rae unwraps the music video for the intimate and personal ballad, “Hey, I Won’t Break Your Heart,” the second offering from her latest studio album, The Heart Speaks In Whispers. In the visual, the British singer, songwriter and guitarist wear various circus customs as she vividly conveys her stance on holding up her up of her relationship.
“I am so thrilled I could make this video,” Bailey Rae told NPR. “I have always wanted to work with Leeds-based set designers Lord Whitney. We talked about a circus theme, and this dream was brought to life and taken to the greatest of heights by director James Frost, who filmed it in a freezing-cold, empty store in Leeds.”
On “Hey, I Won’t Break Your Heart,” Bailey Rae reconnects with a past lover for another attempt at a life partnership. We’re guessing the circus is her way of letting the world know she is no clown when it comes to love.
“This is a song that I wrote about love the second time around with the same person,” the British singer explained. “So I guess it’s about the beginning of trust again.”
Bailey Rae knows how to connect with all our emotions.
