It looks like the animosity between Ciara and ex-fiance Future has subsided a bit. According to TMZ, the music star has dropped her defamation suit against the Freebandz rapper.
In January (2016), Ciara sued Future for alleged slander and libel over public comments and Twitter tweets. He then countersued, claiming that he couldn’t have harmed her reputation because her career was failing. He later dropped his suit after a court ruling gave him joint custody of their son, Future Jr.
Contrary to Future’s previous claims that Ciara’s career was “failing,” her lawyer Larry Stein filed legal papers citing success as the reason the defamation case was pulled insisting, she wouldn’t be able to show Future’s comments hurt her financially.
Nonetheless, Ciara is reportedly still suing Future for a similar claim known as “false light,” which doesn’t need proof of harm.
Ciara may not be raking in the dough with music sales, but her modeling career is cashing in. In may, she signed with IMG Models, and just this week she was confirmed as the new Global Brand Ambassador for Revlon.
