Last week, on Thursday night (Oct 13th), the “Official Prince Tribute: A Celebration of Life and Music” concert took place at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Minnesota where the stars came together to tribute the late, legendary music icon, who passed away six months ago on April 21st.
Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Tori Kelly, Doug E. Fresh, Morris Day & The Time, Judith Hill, Liv Warfield, Luke James, and Mint Condition were all included in the lineup, along with Prince’s ex-wife Mayte Garcia.
Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder turned Prince’s “1999” into a duet along with “I Feel for You,” a 1984 hit from Khan. Wonder did a rendition of “Raspberry Beret” and Morris Day’s performance of “Jungle Love.” Luke James did a great job with a medley of “Do Me” and “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World,” and Bilal performed “The Beautiful Ones,” the same song he performed during the Prince tribute at the 2016 BET Awards.
