The highly-anticipated, BET-produced “New Edition Story ” now has an official air date and time: January 24, 2017, is the date fans will be able to watch the story of how five boys from Boston became one of the biggest groups in R&B in the 80s.
In a three-night series, the biopic will span 30 years of the group’s history, including breakups, makeups, and performances. Members of New Edition are involved with the movie’s production, so there should be some juicy, never-before-seen-and-heard details of what went on behind the scenes.
The film stars Bryshere Y. Gray as Michael Bivins, Elijah Kelley as Ricky Bell, singer-songwriter Luke James as Johnny Gill, Algee Smith as Ralph Tresvant, Keith Powers as Ronnie DeVoe, and newcomer Woody McClain as Bobby Brown.
