On Sunday (Sept. 11), Spike TV’s “Lip Sync Battle” went LIVE for the first time ever where some of the show’s most popular and memorable past performers returned for another chance at glory and the coveted Lip Sync Battle championship belt.
John Legend brought in Stevie Wonder, Stephen Merchant (the “announcer”), and puppets for one of the most epic syncs of Outkast’s 2003 hit “Hey Ya!” Legend went all out with the green set, background singers/dancers, the straight bob wig, suspenders, even a fake mole to look as much like Andre 3000 as he could.
Legend was up against actor Terry Crews who synced “Fight The Power” by Public Enemy with impersonators of Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump dancing behind him. Michael Phelps rapped along to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” while Olivia Munn performed Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” with the help of Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles and Aly Raisman.
The third season of “Lip Sync Battle” premieres on Wednesday, October 12 at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
