Singer The Weeknd has been vocal about his feelings toward the recent police brutality incidents.
After last month’s police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile happened just 24 hours after one another, the singer tweeted, “Enough is enough. it’s time to stand up for this. we can either sit and watch, or do something about it. the time is now. #blacklivesmatter.” He added, “#BLUELIVESMURDER.”
The FADER reports that sources tell them he’s monetarily extending his support to the Black Lives Matter Movement.
They report he recently dropped $200,000 to his hometown college, The University of Toronto chapter of#BLM.
Good lookin’ out, Weeknd!
