Powerhouse singer and former contestant on “The Voice,”Judith Hill, has had the privilege to work under the tutelage of Michael Jackson and Prince, and ironically, was present with each star shortly before their deaths.
Hill can be seen singing “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” in “This Is It,” the movie that documented MJ’s last rehearsal a few days before he died.
More recently, Hill talked to The New York Times about being with Prince on the plane when he passed out and had to make an emergency landing in Moline, IL Just a week before his death on April 21st. It’s been recently revealed that Prince dies of an accidental overdose of the painkiller fentanyl.
Hill revealed that she was one four people on the plane with Prince when he passed out in mid-conversation with her. “Thankfully, I happened to be looking into his face.” Prince had regained consciousness by the time they landed.
She said she knew he was in constant pain from the hip surgery, and thought this health scare was a one-time occurrence. “He was quick on his feet. Never said anything, that this is hurting, never a sign of struggle. That’s why it’s all very shocking.”
Hill said she helped convince Prince to continue to seek medical attention. “And that’s the part that breaks my heart because he was trying. He was trying,” Hill said.
Hill said she found out of his passing by texts from friends. “That was definitely the worst day of my life,” she said.
