Yebo Music Group recording artist Taye Johnson drops his debut video “Play With My Heart.” The fun, up-tempo fun song (produced by Alex Suarez, formerly of Cobra Starship) showcasing Johnson’s impressive vocal chops.
The video shows a young aspiring painter who tries to find inspiration in her daily life. The paintings Johnson holds offer clues to where she may be. “I’m confident sooner or later my song will be stuck in your head,” says Johnson.
“Play With My Heart” is the lead track from Johnson’s first untitled project, and will be featured in the upcoming Kelly Reichardt film Certain Women, starring Laura Dern, Michelle Williams, and Kristen Stewart.
Hailing from Oxford, North Carolina, Taye Johnson has known since the early age of six his voice was special. “Growing up I listened to all the legends, but I would say, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and Prince played a huge influence on me as a singer,” Johnson boasts when describing his Soul-Pop lane.
