Last night (June 7), Bobby Brown’s interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts aired on an episode of 20/20 where he opened up candidly about his career from New Edition to going solo, his marriage to Whitney Houston, their infamous drug use, and his relationship with their daughter Bobbi Kristina.
In the revealing sit down, Brown refutes blame that he was responsible for introducing Houston to drugs. In fact, he says the first time he saw her do hard drugs was on their wedding day. He said she offered him a hit of cocaine, but he didn’t indulge at that moment.
“She did drugs, but drugs didn’t do her. She knew how to handle herself,” Brown said. “It only made me, you know, love and want to protect her more at the time.”
Another bombshell he dropped during the interview is that he had sexual encounters with both Madonna and Janet Jackson.
Brown breakdown in tears when discussing the passing of his daughter Bobbi Kristina; He thinks to her boyfriend Nick Gordon knows that happened that led her to be found face down in their townhouse bathtub on Jan. 31, 2015. He also reveals that he and Whitney could have done a better job with raising BK.”We could have been better. We should have been better,” he said.
The interview is in promotion for Brown’s upcoming memoir, Every Little Step, out June 13.
