It’s everybody’s worst nightmare….falling in front of a crowd of people…on live, national television!
That’s what happened last night to Pop/R&B singer Meghan Trainor after her energetic performance of “Me Too” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Backed by a live band, she and her background dancers lit up the stage for a fun, sassy performance of the single from her latest album, Thank You. She wore a form-fitting green dress and platform heels, but that’s what could have been her downfall (no pun intended).
After wrapping up her performance with a bang, she turned around to grab the mic, but her right ankle shifted wrong as she turned, forcing her to lose her balance, grab the mic stand, and fall to the ground. (Ladies, we’ve all been there! When our high heels betray us).
An embarrassed Trainer just stayed on the ground, and host Fallon softened her embarrassment and laid down on the ground with her. But she got up like a trooper and saluted the audience, who then gave her a standing ovation.
“Of every single dance move, grabbing the mic is the toughest,” Fallon joked.
“Might have fell down… but I KILLLED that sh-t hahaha. keepinitreal thank you @fallontonight,” she tweeted.
