Following her September 2015 single “Higher (Let Your Guard Down),” Grammy-nominated songstress and actress Antonique Smith releases the video for the beautiful and powerful song “All We Really Have Is Now.”
As a New Jersey native, Antonique’s approach to the video was to highlight Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and all the lives that were lost due to the climatic causes. In honor of Earth Month, the climate-crisis focused, Greg Cally-directed visual serves as a reminder of the natural disasters and fatalities that we are facing due to climate change, while also reminding us to appreciate who and what we have because tomorrow is not promised.
Written by Emeli Sande and Toby Gad, “All We Really Have Is Now” is about living in the moment, something many of us don’t do.
“I just wanna breath in, stop second guessing, look at your smile and take it in / Try to relax and live in the moment, it’s all that we’ve got to believe in,” she sings on the chorus.
“This timely song reminds you of what’s important. We’re all guilty of focusing so much on what we want, what we don’t yet have or what happened in our past, that we don’t appreciate the moment we have now,” mentions Antonique. “That moment is all we have …as tomorrow is not promised,” she adds.
Smith’s EP Love Is Everything is available now on iTunes.
