On April 13th, 2016 at the Park Plaza in Los Angeles, Ray-Ban x Boiler Room unveiled the first pillar out of a monthly event series, this one themed “Open Your Heart.” An evening of intimate musical connections curated by LA-based collective Soulection, the event included performances from Jhene Aiko, Kali Uchis BJ the Chicago Kid, and DJ sets from Soulection DJs.
Featured below are Jhene Aiko and BJ The Chicago Kid’s sets; both Jhene and BJ had the crowd completely entranced with their performances. During Jhene’s 10-minute set, she sang “Eternal Sunshine” and also covered John Mayer’s “Stop This Train.” BJ’s set was a little over thirty minutes and he sang gems from his past, his present album In My Mind, as well as soulful acoustic covers.
