112 member Slim praises his crush on his new solo single “Killin’ Em Girl,” an ambient, choppy track from his upcoming solo LP Re-Fueled due on March 18th.
“Looking so good, got these other girls hatin’ / But you ain’t even mad cause you know you cold,” he croons to the woman in question; and it’s not complete unless a vocal sample of his former Bay Boy label mate (the late Biggie Smalls) is present, saying “Can I get wit cha, that’s the one I got to get.” The clip features photos of famous beauties such as Rihanna, Tinashe, Lira, Lupita Nyong’o, Brandy, and many more.
Slim’s forthcoming album will be his first on Shanachie Entertainment, and promises to deliver the classic R&B sound he is known for as well as a few special surprises. The Atlanta-based singer has been in the woodshed writing new material and drawing up some surprising influences. “I have been concentrating and listening to a lot of different music lately. I love country music,” confides Slim. “I do not want to make country music but I enjoy that the writers put a lot of time and effort into the lyrics. I believe ladies still want romance.”
Re-Fueled follows-up to his 2008 CD Love’s Crazy, and his 2012 mixtape Crusin’ The City.
