On what would have been her 23rd birthday (March 4), Bobbi Kristina’s official cause of death was announced by a Georgia medical examiner after a judge allowed him to release the findings, reports CNN.
The examiner listed drug intoxication and immersion in a bathtub of water as the cause of BK’s death months later from pneumonia and brain damage, but the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office didn’t specify if the cause was accidental or foul play.
On January 31, 2015, Brown was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Atlanta home. The medical examiner’s office reported finding several drugs in Brown’s system, including marijuana, alcohol, a cocaine byproduct, medications that sedate people and treat anxiety and morphine. She died at a hospice on July 31st at age 22, having never regained consciousness.
Brown’s father, soul singer Bobby Brown spoke out on his disapproval of the release of his daughter’s autopsy information.
In a statement released by his lawyer, Brown said, “First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter’s autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind-blowing to me. Please pray for my family.”
Since the autopsy happened, Georgia authorities have kept the info sealed due to a court order, but what changed was Atlanta Judge Henry Newkirk’s ruling to grant a request by local media to unseal her autopsy results. Newkirk told news channel WGCL that he doesn’t “think there is anything particularly earth-shattering in the report.”
Given the autopsy information revealed in the report, do you think the info should have been publicly disclosed? Sound off, Roomies!
