The New York Times Style Magazine is prepping a story a called “Hip-Hop and R&B’s New Voices” where seven rising female artists (Tinashe, SZA, Dej Loaf, Empress Of, ABRA, Lord Narf and Jean Deaux) all modeled unique earrings. During the photo shoot, the ladies sang the Roberta Flack/Fugees classic “Killing Me Softly” shown in the behind-the-scenes clip below.
Lord Narf starts the clip with an original flow and Tinashe comes next, singing a line of the lyrics a capella. SZA also sings a piece of the classic R&B tune before Empress Of, Deaux, and ABRA all add their unique style to the song.
Along with this, both Tinashe and Dej Loaf are a few of M.A.C Cosmetics’ newest endorsers.
