August Alsina’s album This Thing Called Life is due out tomorrow (Dec. 11), but it seems there was some unfortunate leakage at the hands of his record label Def Jam.
Last night, each song from the album appeared on his Youtube page, each uploaded into its own Vevo video.
A ticked off August tweeted. “I didn't do this. My shitty ass label did it. They're just fucking Shitty! Smh.” “FUCKKKKKKKKK YOU @DefJamRecords.”
The music was promptly taken down soon after. Hours later, he clarified in a long post to his IG account where his frustrations came from, and even clarified that is was a mistake on behalf of the label.
“My ‘Fuck You’ tweet came from a place of frustration,” he wrote. “…I can’t express to you how much hard work was poured into this album, it’s [sic] presentation & roll out so for it to be leaked because of careless mistakes hurts me to the core,” he continued.
I can understand his frustrations, but I’m thinking This Thing Called Life should do well despite the leak!
